iQOO Neo 6 Review: More than just a gaming phone!

iQOO Neo 6 tries to be versatile by offering excellent performance along with stable battery life and camera performance. But how does it actually happen? Read the full review here to find out.

How many gaming phones can you recall from the mid-range segment? Not much, right? But now, to give you a great option to consider and make your gaming experience fun, iQOO has come up with the iQOO Neo 6. But not everyone is a gamer; the phone must also be good at doing the basic phone things well, considering its price. At a starting price of Rs. 29,999, is iQOO Neo 6 the next performance champ? After using the phone for a while now, here’s what we have to say.

iQOO Neo 6 Design

At first glance, the iQOO Neo 6 looks like another iQOO phone – A big camera bump with a nice color gradient. It looks premium. The camera bump looks fun and stands out from other smartphones in this price range. Supplied in two different colors (I use the Dark Nova variant) the phone gets a matte finish and does not attract smudges or dirt. Weighing 190 grams, the phone is convenient and comfortable to hold. The build quality also seems good.

iQOO Neo 6 Display

The front of the iQOO Neo 6 features a 6.62-inch AMOLED E4 display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum touch sampling rate of 1200Hz. The screen is responsive, bright ( peak brightness of 1300 nits) and offers a decent viewing experience with vibrant colors. Additionally, the phone gives you the option to choose whether you want to keep the refresh rate at 60Hz, 120Hz, or a smart switch.

iQOO Neo 6 performance

The heart of the iQOO Neo 6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC – although it’s over a year old, it’s among the most stable and reliable smartphone chips to date. Moreover, the phone runs on Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12, boosting the performance of the phone a notch higher. The phone perfectly handles all the tasks assigned to it. Whether it’s playing heavy games like Shadow Fight 4, Asphalt 9, BGMI, or casual games like Temple Run, Tank Stars, among others, or just binge-watching or surfing social media, you enjoy doing it all without noticing any lag. .

And to help the phone keep cool, iQOO has added the Waterfall Cooling System to Neo 6. As a result, the phone does not heat up or show any kind of crunch even after long gaming sessions. User Interface (UI) comes with lots of bloatware and pre-installed apps. You may also be annoyed by unnecessary notifications pushed by the browser app. Read also : Nothing Telephone (1): that’s it! The phone has dual stereo speakers that are powerful and clear enough to enhance your gaming and entertainment experience. iQOO Neo 6 also gives you multiple customization options. For example, you can set fingerprint icon animation, face recognition animation, touch screen animation and much more.

iQOO Neo 6 cameras

Since iQOO Neo 6 is more of a gaming phone, I wasn’t expecting much from its cameras. However, to my surprise, the clicks were very impressive. The Neo 6 has a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide camera and 2MP macro camera. When it comes to selfies, you get a 16MP lens on the front.

The main camera captures every detail with proper color and clarity. The sensor also works well in low light. The ultra wide and micro lens also captured pretty decent images. The portrait click gets a nice natural bokeh effect. However, if you compare the camera performance of the phone with other smartphones under the Rs.30,000 segment like the Oppo F21 Pro, you will find room for improvement. iQOO Neo 6 Battery

The iQOO Neo 6 is equipped with a 4700mAh battery and comes with an 80W charger. The phone can easily last 1.5 days on a regular working charge. However, a long 3-4 hour gaming session will quickly drain the battery, requiring you to charge it twice. But charging iQOO Neo 6 is not a tedious task! The phone takes about 45 minutes to be fully charged from 10% to 100%.

Verdict iQOO Neo 6

iQOO with its Neo 6 has tried to make a phone that’s not just for gaming but a capable all-rounder. The phone undoubtedly offers a great gaming experience but apart from that it also offers decent camera performance and battery life with fast charging capabilities. At the same time, the iQOO Neo 6 can be a great recommendation for gamers who want a phone under Rs. 30,000 that does almost every task well! However, there is always room for improvement. The Neo 6 has strong competition from Realme GT 2, Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge, Oppo F21 Pro, in terms of camera performance and charging speed.
