ASUS ROG Phone 5s Brings Latest Gaming Phone to US

With all the attention foldable devices are getting, you might think this is the only high-end niche phone. If, however, you’re more into a super-powered phone, then gaming smartphones are where they are at. The hype around this rather niche market has apparently calmed down a bit over the past few months, but ASUS ‘launch of the ROG Phone 5s in the US wants to remind everyone that the game is far from over. .

Although we are nearing the end of 2022, the ASUS ROG Phone 5s remains one of the most powerful phones of this year. That’s not just because of the raw specs, which include a Snapdragon 888+ and 16 or 18GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM, depending on the model. There’s also that 6.78-inch 2448 × 1080 Samsung E4 AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sample rate to make things look and feel like butter.

Much of its claimed performance is due to its cooling systems which keep this powerful processor from choking. In the case of the ROG Phone 5s, there is an internal GameCool 5 system which, among other things, divides the battery in half, with the processor in the middle, for better heat dissipation. And then there’s ASUS ROG’s AeroActive Cooler 5 accessory which is pretty much an exhaust fan that you attach to the back of the phone.

There are, of course, other gaming-centric features that you won’t find on normal flagships with gaming-worthy specs. These include the brand’s famous AirTriggers, which now add two touch sensors to it. back of the phone for additional controls. For those who get the top-of-the-line ROG Phone 5s Pro, a new colorful P-OLED display will greet them on the back of the phone with RGB displays that gamers love.

These powerful gaming features don’t come for free, of course, but the prices are still in line with most high-end premium phones this year. The ASUS ROG Phone 5s with 16 GB of RAM costs $ 1,099, while the ROG Phone 5s Pro with 18 GB of RAM costs $ 1,299. Phones are now available from Amazon and Mobile Advance (ROG 5s Pro Phone).
